When travelling to Florida, you actually have quite a number of options on your hands and all of them are fairly good. If you decide to take a trip to the state on a plane, you will have a fair number of airports to consider landing to and the largest of those are Orlando International Airport (great choice if you are heading to Disneyworld), Miami International Airport (if you are heading to Miami and the beaches of South Florida), Tampa International Airport (in the Tampa Bay area, lots of international flights) or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport which is the largest one in Florida and supports lots of low cost flights.
If you decide to come to Florida on a train, Amtrak’s Silver Star and Silver Meteor will connect you with the major cities in Florida, but mostly if you are coming in from some of the East Coast cities. There is also an Auto Train that can serve as a car-rail link if you don’t feel like driving all the way from the north. And if you do want to drive, then you can approach the state from three different interstate highways: I-95 enters Florida from Georgia and it is convenient for travelers from the East Coast states; I-75 also enters from Georgia but it goes through the middle part of Florida, through Tampa area and it is good for people coming from the Midwest; I-10 is the best for people coming from the further western areas.
You can also come to Florida by boat seeing that Florida has a lot of big ports. Going around Florida if you don’t have your car can be arranged by one of many car rental agencies and keep in mind that the rates for renting a car are very low as Florida is the most visited state. If you don’t want to drive, all of the major cities are connected by Greyhound bus lines and there are lots of other intercity bus lines.
